Why do I need a BCeID account?

Many government services are available online. You need a BCeID account to use them. It's free to create, and you can securely log in to participating services.

There are three types of BCeID accounts. This page is for the Basic account.

Government services you can use with a Basic BCeID account include:

  • Court Services Online – for filing court documents that BC courts allow to be filed online.
  • Online Divorce Assistant – a tool that helps with filing joint divorce forms.
  • My Self Serve – for income and disability services in BC.
  • My Family Services – to apply for the Affordable Child Care Benefit.

Creating a Basic BCeID account

This five-step process takes about 10 minutes to complete:

Step 1. Go to the registration page and type in your name and email address.

Step 2. Choose a user ID and password.

Step 3. Select and answer 2 password reset questions.

Step 4. Check the box indicating ‘I’m not a robot’ which will bring up a visual puzzle to be completed.

Step 5. Check the box indicating you've read the Terms of Use Agreement.

You’ll receive an email with your account details.

If you have questions or need help with registration, contact the BCeID Help Desk online or phone 1-888-356-2741 or 604-660-2355 (Greater Vancouver).
